Authored by founder Chieko Garling, our proprietary method forces students to think about how compositions are made by studying form, intervals, melody, and harmony progressions.
We start by analyzing the composition map and Roman numeral harmony progressions to develop strong ears in multiple keys.
Students practice melodies and harmonies separately, then transpose them into different keys with ease, building deep understanding.
By avoiding the "shortcut" of just reading traditional sheet music note-for-note, our students remember their repertoire for years to come.
