Empowering Youth Through Public Art.
Democratizing the arts for underserved multi-ethnic inner-city communities outside normal school hours. We mobilize youth to take an active role locally and abroad through collaborative mural making and technology.
Art as a Catalyst for Change
The goals of the Mural Mission are to democratize the arts by providing vital art programs to underserved communities. We strive to expose youth to highly trained and recognized arts professionals through residencies and artist exchanges.
Through an interdisciplinary approach involving community art making and technology, students utilize areas of communication, language, history, and research—creating a rich, multidimensional learning experience. We bridge the gap between arts and culture, acting as a cultural resource for youth development and fostering a more tolerant society.

Cristina holds an MFA in Studio Art and works with institutions including the NEA, Getty Museum, Orange County Museum of Art, and Santa Monica Museum of Art. Her work investigates personal identity, cultural history, and diaspora, presenting familiar images out of context to expose societal contradictions.
