Frequently Asked Questions

We answer your top questions about sailing Montenegro so you can focus on the views.

Do I need a license for a Montenegro yacht charter? +

For a bareboat rental, you need an ICC license and a VHF certificate. **With a professional skipper on board, no license is required**, so anyone can book. The skipper handles navigation and all marina paperwork.

When is the best month to sail in Montenegro? +

The high season is June through September. However, for the best balance of weather, fewer crowds, and lower prices, we recommend the shoulder season: May, June, or September.

Is fuel included in the charter price? +

Fuel is pay-as-you-use. Every yacht is delivered with a full tank and returned the same way. You only pay for what you actually burn during the charter.

Can I sail from Montenegro to Croatia or Albania? +

Yes. Most week-long charters include an optional border crossing. Cavtat in Croatia is reachable from Herceg Novi, and Albania is possible with appropriate notice for paperwork.

Are children welcome on board? +

Absolutely. A catamaran is the most family-friendly type, stable on the water, with shaded cockpit areas. Life jackets in all sizes are provided at no extra cost.
