Arrival in San Jose Jan 24

Welcome by guide/chauffeur. Transfer to hotel. Relax in gardens (White-eared Ground-sparrow, Blue-crowned Motmot).

Tortuguero National Park Jan 25 & 26

Travel by bus and boat to the Caribbean. Explore waterways. 320+ bird species including Tiger Herons, Agami Herons, and all 6 Kingfisher species.

Look for: Great Green Macaw, Kingfishers, Herons
Sarapiqui Lowlands Jan 27

Travel to tropical lowlands. Explore riparian zones. Prime spot for Great Green Macaw and Sunbittern.

La Selva Biological Station Jan 28 & 29

A tour highlight. World-famous research station with 420+ bird species. Tinamou, Snowy Cotinga, and abundant mammals.

Arenal Volcano Jan 30 & 31

Breathtaking volcano views. Extensive trails at the lodge. Crimson-collared Tanagers and optional Owling night.
