Nicholas "Nico" Costilla is dedicated to building an accessible, efficient, and transparent Clerk’s Office for every resident.
I am a life-long resident of San Marcos and a proud graduate of Texas State University. Hays County has always been my home, and the people here have shaped my values, my work ethic, and my commitment to public service.
Since 2014, I have worked in the Hays County District Attorney’s Office. Currently serving as the Misdemeanor Division Legal Assistant Supervisor, I oversee case management operations and ensure our justice system runs efficiently and accurately.
Every resident deserves an office that is accessible, efficient, and handles your vital records with care and respect.
Supporting county government transparency and responding to public information requests strictly in accordance with Texas law.
Overseeing office operations, budgeting, and technology systems to ensure tax dollars are used responsibly and services are delivered on time.
Managing public access to records ensuring documents are available, searchable, and accessible to all residents while protecting confidential info.
Maintaining deeds, liens, plats, and preserving the county's historical archives.
Issuing birth certificates, death certificates, marriage licenses, and DBAs.
Managing court files and dockets for civil, probate, and misdemeanor cases.
Serving on boards and local groups has taught me the value of listening and working together. My commitment to public service extends far beyond office hours.
